Conspiracy

"Explain to me this conspiracy against me, ohh. And tell me how I lost my power, yeah." -Paramore

I found this song while fishing through my friend's iPod as it was charging. I love Paramore. Haley Williams has such an amazing voice. The beat of this song is so awesome. The song makes me think about a relationship in which there are secrets. Everyone else knows what's going on but you, and you realize that you're no longer the first person to know anything anymore. The relationship is built upon lie after lie and you've completely lost your power.

The Walk

"Oh, I was doing so well, can we just be friends, I feel a weakness coming on. It's not meant to be like this, not what I planned at all. I don't want to feel like this, yeah. No it's not meant to be like this, not what I planned at all, I don't want to feel like this, so that makes it all your fault." -Imogen Heap

Imogen Heap is the most amazing electronica artist I have ever heard. She's got the cool songs, the relaxed songs, the sad songs, the upbeat songs, and everything in between. The Walk is one of her sad songs. I like it becuase there's so much emotion in it. Imagine someone liking you but you not liking them, and you just decide to give the relationship a chance. After a while you start to feel the relationship is weak and going no where. And maybe you start to feel like you've messed around with someone's heart when you never really liked them to begin with. It wasn't something you intended or had planned but it ended up like this. Even though you don't want to feel this way, you do.

Scratch

"If I scratch your back you need to scratch mine. You need to get your's I need to get mine, so scratch. We can do it, we can do it." -Beach Girl 5

I heard this song on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I was so shocked to hear that Kris Kardashian is co-managing the group and Mandy Jiroux, Miley's best friend and ex-backup dancer, is one of the five girls in the group. The song is so catchy and danceable. I just love it. Everytime I'm listening to it and there is someone near me I take my hand and softly scratch their arm! LOL! My mom hates it but, oh well! I just love the lyrics though. Some people get this idea that they can ask for a favor and when we need one in return they don't want to do it. Like, what the hell man!?! It don't work that way buddy. So scratch!

Only Girl

"Want you to make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world, like I'm the only one who understands, like I'm the only one who knows your heart." -Rihanna

This song is so amazing. I don't think guys realize how we get when we've go them in our grasp. It's like, we can't afford to lose you, so lose yourself in us, and only us. Enjoy the video!

Guns and Horses

"I left my house, left my clothes, door wide open, heaven knows, you're so worth it, you are. But I wish I could feel it all for you. I wish I could be it all for you. If I could erase the pain, and maybe you'd feel the same. I'd do it all for you, I would, I would, I would, I would." -Ellie Goulding

So Ellie Goulding is another one of those songs I found on Grooveshark. She's a British folktronica singer. I never heard of folktronica before Ellie Goluding. But I love it! This song is so amazing. The video is even more amazing. It reminds me of an army wife who's husband has gone off to war. She wishes she could take all the bullets and experience the blows of grenades for him. Just trade places for a moment. <3

Please Don't Go

"Baby please don't go. If I wake up tomorrow will you still be here? I don't know if you feel the way I do. If you leave I'll go find you. Baby please don't go." -Mike Posner

So Mike Posner's doing a pretty good job in the music business. His first single "Cooler Than Me" was a hit and now "Please Don't Go" is climbing up the charts. It's such an amazing song about a man's worry over a girl he loves. He's afraid that he'll close his eyes and go to sleep, then wake up the next morning to find her gone. It's something never guaranteed--waking up next to the one you love--especially if you aren't sure they feel the same way about you. In the bridge he keeps repeating, "I stay running from tomorrow." Its like the closer he gets to the next morning the sooner he finds out whether or not she stayed. So keep running Mike. Make the night last forever.

Heaven Forbid

"Heaven forbid you end up alone, and don't know why. Hold on tight and wait for tomorrow you'll be alright." -The Fray

The Fray never ceases to write those really somber and somewhat uplifting song lyrics. When I first heard this song, I fell in love with it instantly. There are so many people in this world who want to meet someone, settle down, and start a family. Unfortuantely, that can't even begin to happen if you're alone. I believe there is a soulmate for everyone somewhere out there, and you've just got to wait for them to find you. You're supposed to fall in love, not jump in.

Last Kiss

"I do recall now the smell of the rain, fresh on the pavement, I ran off the plane that July 9th, the beat of your heart. It jumps through your shirt, I can still feel your arms. Now I'll go, sit on the floor wearing your clothes. All that I know is I don't know how to be something you miss. Never thought we'd have a last kiss. Never imagined we'd end like this." -Taylor Swift

This song is so heart-warming. Yet another great lyric from Taylor Swift from her new album "Speak Now". I just love the way she protrays losing someone you really care about. It's carzy how one minute you're running into their arms once you get off the plane, holding them close and kissing them passionately. And the next minute they're gone. It's so sad and vivid at the same time. Then you don't even know how the onther person feels about all this. You're not even sure they'll miss you. :(

Never Gonna Leave This Bed

So, it's been about two months since I've blogged. Sorry guys! I've been so busy with school and work and SAT prep! So many great albums have come out since September. Maroon 5's "Hands All Over" is one of them.

"You hurt me. Why do I deserve this? You make me so nervous. Calm me down, calm me down. Wake you up in the middle of the night to say I will never walk away again, I'm never gonna leave this bed." -Maroon 5

This song is so amazing. When I first heard it, I realized how many men loved one night stands. Adam, or whoever from the group wrote this song, wants his girl to know that he wouldn't do that to her. Imagine waking someone up at like one in the morning to tell them you're not leaving. I would be like,"You woke me up to tell me that! Shoot! Go back to sleep man!" But in any case, I give Maroon 5 their props. They're real men.

Infatuation

"I could love you. Surely this cannot be real. You match everything I feel." -Ashley Noot

I discovered this song while listening to Grooveshark which has become my new homework listening soother (lol!) I used to use Pandora but they don't let you choose your own songs so I decided to start using Grooveshark for the 2010-2011 school year. It's working out pretty well so far. Especially since they gave me a little taste of Ashley Noot's music. I love it!! This song is so amazing. It's like when you like someone and you can tell they like you back. You start to picture being with this person and even loving them. <3

A Year Without Rain

"So let this drought come to an end. And may this desert flower again. 'Cuz I need you here I can't explain but a day without you is like a year without rain." -Selena Gomez

That's my favorite part of the song not only for the lyrics but for the beat change. I can honestly say Selena has improved since her first album Kiss and Tell. And yes you can explain Selena! Without him everything is dry, dull, lifeless and flowerless! Bring it on with the monsoon! LOL! I can't wait for her new album to come out next week September 21!!

No Logic

"There is no logic. No reason. No logic at all to keep holding on to the hope you'll turn into the man I thought you were." -White Hinterland

So I first discovered White Hinterland while watching an episode of Pretty Little Liars. The song was "Icarus" which is also played in the Revlon Just Bitten commercial. I came across this song on youtube, you know how the little tabs for more videos come up when you finish watching one? Well yeah, that's how. And I just love No Logic!! The video was cool too. It's funny cuz I don't know anyone who has felt this way about someone but it is imaginable. That one guy that keeps on saying "I'll change" but never does. That has to be annoying. If it were up to me, three strikes your out babe.

For the First Time

"Oh these times are hard. Yeah, they're making us crazy don't give up on me baby."
- The Script

The other day me and my best friend Samantha decided to swap song list. I wrote her a list of songs she should listen to and she did the same for me. I ended up with a whole bunch of songs from The Script. But I'm not complaining cuz they are awesome!!! Never in a million years would I have believed that they were an Irish band! But anyway I love this song. It's so sad and romantic at the same time. You know, before this song I didn't realize how much the economy has an effect on relationships. It especially has an effect on those couples who marry for money. Hopefully, the person this song was intended for or inspired by isn't this way, because the guys from The Script are too romantic to let go <3.

The One That Got Away

So I haven't blogged in a while. Partly becuase I've been really busy and partly because my internet connection wasn't working. But it is now so here we go:

"In another life I would make you stay so I don't have to say you were the one that got away, the one that got away." -Katy Perry

I don't know what happened in between her last album and now, but whatever it was it's AMAZING!!! I absolutely love this song. The beat of the song is kinda happier than the lyrics which is a contradiction I still have yet to figure it's meaning. A lot of people can say this about someone they've fallen in love with in reality or in fantasy. In reality of course it hurts more, but in fantasy it hurts too. When someone "gets away" in fantasy, everything that could have been can never be unless that person changes their mind about you. But by that time, it might just be too late. The tables turn :(

Your Song

"Haven't you heard? I'm stuck on a verse, I'm stuck on a boy who fills me with joy. I knew I was wrong to jump straight on into this picture so pretty but he is so pretty to me." -Kate Walsh

I absolutely adore this song!! The lyrics are so heart felt. And even thought they don't go into dramatic emotional detail it sums up a lot of people's lives. It's just so great the way Kate wrote this song because she starts it off by saying she's stuck on a verse and on a boy; just like when you like someone and you can't get them out of your head, no matter what. I'm sure plenty of people have felt this way about someone before. When I first heard this song I wanted to know if I was going crazy because she wrote this song so well and it just struck me so deeply that it scared me! Jumping into love is never a good thing especially if you don't know how the other person feels about you yet, but isn't that how love works? You just fall accidentally, without a live jacket or parachute, waiting for that person to either catch you or watch you fall. The picture is so pretty and so is the person but you never know how the picture will turn out when you throw yourself and your emotions into it <3.

Drumming Song

Florence, I would like to hear this sound for myself. Just for a little while. Would you mind switching places with me for, oh I don't know 24 hours??

Teenage Dream

So I realized that I can't write a lyric of the day for this one because there's just too much about it that's so great. Katy Perry, if you don't sing this song on Teen Choice, well, let me just leave it at that. :)

You think I'm pretty
Without any make-up on
You think I'm funny
When I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me
So I'll let my walls come down, down

Before you met me
I was alright
But things were kinda heavy
You brought me to life
Now every February
You'll be my valentine, valentine

Let's go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I
We'll be young forever

You make me
Feel like
I'm living a Teenage Dream
The way you turn me on
I can't sleep
Let's runaway
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

My heart stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

We drove to Cali
And got drunk on the beach
Got a motel and
Built a fort out of sheets
I finally found you
My missing puzzle piece
I'm complete

Let's go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I
We'll be young forever

You make me
Feel like
I'm living a Teenage Dream
The way you turn me on
I can't sleep
Let's runaway
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

My heart stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

I might get your heart racing
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight

Let you put your hands on me
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight

You make me
Feel like
I'm living a Teenage Dream
The way you turn me on
I can't sleep
Let's runaway
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

My heart stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This is real
So take a chance
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

Sweet Disposition

"So stay there, because I'll be coming over while our blood's still young, it's so young it runs. Won't stop till it's over, won't stop to surrender." - The Temper Trap

This song was featured in the movie 500 Days of Summer. I can so imagine the video everytime I hear this song. Although there is a music video already here's my vision:

A girl sitting on a park bench reading a book and all of a sudden she sees this guy standing a few feet away from her. Both begin to walk towards eachother and touch palms sending sparks. She pulls away from him and he sweeps her into his arms, and twirls her around in the air. Then the scene changes to a party where the band (The Temper Trap) is playing Sweet Disposition. They dance romantically while everyone else is dancing wildly to the chorus and he spins her again, this time letting go and loses her in a sea of people. They find each other again and kiss romantically. As the song is ending, the girl finds herself on the park bench again staring at the guy a few feet away from her.

All Those Pretty Lights

"Oh and I wanna remember this night, and how my words never came out right. It's just my patience that keeps me alive. Just like all those pretty lights just like all the pretty lights in the sky." - Andrew Belle

I heard this song thanks to the show Pretty Little Liars. I love the melody in the begiining of the song. It's just so soothing and mesmerizing. I think it's so cute when a guy gets all tongue tied when he's asking a girl out or telling her that he loves her or maybe even asking her to marry him. To me it lets you know that they aren't saying it just to say it. They actually mean what they're saying and they really want this thought to be conveyed as perfectly as possible-- so perfect that they mess up while saying it to you. <3

The Middle

"Maybe you'll save me. You're gonna take me from this daydream I've been painting."
-Demi Lovato

I remember listening to this song for the first time in 2008. I fell in love with it instantly. Everytime a girl likes a guy she starts to have fantasies about him. Okay maybe not EVERY girl but a lot of them do. And if they don't, then they fantasize about celebrities. The guy who actually comes along and saves us from these fantasies is amazing. I mean, do you know what it's like to crush on a guy and then two weeks later have him crushing your lips in a dream then later reality? That must be amazing. I hope one day that will happen to me. <3

Stephen

"Stephen, why won't you call me? Sitting here waiting. Why won't you call me?" -Kesha

So this is one of Kesha's serious songs. I always wondered who invented the 'Don't call a girl until after 72 hours' rule. It's so stupid! What if that girl decides to date another guy since this one doesn't call her back, huh? Then he'll feel stupid. It reminds me of the movie 'He's Just Not That Into You' when Ginnifer's character waits at the phone for this guy to call her. It's pathetic. Why would a guy who is really into you make you wait? I would think he's not into me and just forget about him.

Kiss and Tell

"You got me twisted with your lips now are you gonna kiss and tell?" -Justin Bieber

So this song is only on the deluxe edition of My World 2.0. If it weren't for youtube I wouldn't know it. I love it when people kiss and tell! I wanna know the details! Where his/her lips soft? Did you like it? Where, when, tongue, peck? I like to hear eveything! And I would kiss and tell too. Sorry Justin. Could you make one exception? Lol.

Love And Affection

"I just don't understand why my love isn't good enough for you, I want you to show me love and affection, love and affection, easing the tension, with love, love and affection." -Neon Trees

First of all let me mention how amazing Neon Trees are! I just heard their song from the Camp Vegas commercial a few days ago called "Animal" and instantly fell for this band. This song "Love And Affection" is crazy-cool. The first part just held my ears and never let them go. I can't get it out of my head. I can so imagine a guy asking his girlfriend why his love isn't good enough after a breakup or after she tells him that she isn't interested. Even maybe after he finds her cheating. That would be epic. The look on her face would be either A)confused because his love is good enough, it's her love that isn't, B)scared that she left a horrible scar on his heart and that he will go on thinking this forever, or if she has absolutely no heart at all, C)annoyed that he's bothering to ask. The possibilities are endless when it comes to Neon Trees lyrics. And btw. Happy 4th of July!

Untouchable

"Cause you're untouchable burning brighter than the sun, and when you're close I feel like coming undone. In the middle of the night when I'm in this dream it's like a million little stars spelling out your name, you've gotta come on, come on say that we'll be together. Come on, come on little taste of heaven." -Taylor Swift

Omj. Where do I start with this? I just love Taylor's version of this song because it's so powerful, you know? I could have sworn Taylor wrote it though, and I'm glad she redid it because the original...whoo don't even get me started! But the lyircs are amazing. Every time I hear this song, I can imagine the sexiest guy just walking by you in the hallway and brushing your shoulder, then you and him go off into this fantastical world in outer space where there are all these beautiful stars. Then you bounce back to reality and realize you can't ever have this guy becuase he's out of your league and "untouchable" but you want him so bad that you fantasize about him in your dreams and beg that little taste of heaven to be with you. *Sigh*

Round and Round

"Love me or love me not, I'm staring at the clock, I pick them flower petals off and then I watch them drop." - Selena Gomez

I remember those days when I was little and I would pick the flower petals off saying 'He loves me, he loves me not.' It was so devastating when the last petal was 'He loves me not', as if he really wouldn't love me in the future. Thinking about that now makes me laugh. I wonder who invented that game, and if people really go on beliving it's true. Flower petals or not he gonna love me. And I'm gonna love him. I just know it. <3

Permanent December

"Cuz I'm saving all my lovin' for someone and it's you." - Miley Cyrus

Okay okay. I realize a lot of people hate her but this song is cool. Its weird because my friend Jackie put up a post on facebook that said, "Somewhere out there somebody loves you, and they don't even know it yet." That, I'd say is so amazing. Some of us are saving our deepest emotions for someone we don't even know exists. That's crazy. I'd like to think this person is everything I want in a man. Honestly, I want to find you <3.

Edge of Desire

"Don't say a word, just come over and lie here with me."

Omigosh!! I just finished listening to John Mayer's album Battle Studies and track number nine, Edge of Desire, is so romantic! It's just so heartfelt and touching. It honestly makes you forget what a womanizing manwhore John Mayer is for about five minutes and thrity-four seconds! In my dreams someone says that to me. Like my friend Hauwa says, "I can't wait to fall in love." I thought she was crazy when she said that one day during chemistry lab, but this song brings back the saying so fervently in my mind. The song makes you feel like you and that special someone are on two different sides of the universe, calling out to eachother. It's just so romantic! I'm really old fashioned, so I only want to get married once and have it last for decades. One day...just one day. For know, I'm standing on a mountain, on the edge of desire.

Kiss Me

So I was looking at one of my friends photographer's photo's and I got the idea of putting tape over my mouth and taking a few pics like this. It was so much fun taking and editting them. I have so much more but this one is my fave. Enjoy!

Marching Bands of Manhattan

"Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole, just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound. And while you debate half empty or half full, it slowly rises, your love is gonna drown." -Death Cab For Cutie

I absolutely love this lyric and this song! It's so addicting. The idea of love drowning has so many sides. Love can drown someone. I've heard people talk about drowning in each others love. But love itself can drown in something. Maybe water? I'm not sure which way Death Cab intended for this lyric to be interpreted. But that makes it all the more intriguing! Love drowning at the beach in the water sounds weird but interesting. Love dies sometimes, even when we least expect it.

Heavy In Your Arms

Hey. I've been so busy studying for finals and regents, but they are all over! My summer vacay has officially begun!

"My love has concrete feet, my love is an iron ball, wrapped around your ankles over the waterfall." -Florence and the Machine

This lyric is from the song "Heavy In Your Arms" on the Eclipse Soundtrack. I love the metaphors in this lyric. Comparing love to an iron ball that is wrapped around your lovers ankles is just genious. Iron is the most magnetic piece of metal, which is much like love that attaches you to someone. The fact that she says her love has concrete feet is so profound. Like love that doesn't move but can be broken. This lyric captures my heart. <3

Twilight Saga Eclipse

I didn't mention that I'm a huge Twilight fan. I've read all the books, seen the movies and cannot wait until Eclipse comes out on June 30! At this moment I am listening to the soundtrack for Eclipse. The songs sound pretty good so far. All share an awesome theme. The book Eclipse is mainly about Bella being torn in between Jacob and Edward. I think the artists did a good job of writing lyrics that exemplify Bella's emotions. I don't have a favorite song from the soundtrack yet but I will by tommorrow. I want to base some of my blogs on a "lyric of the day". I love to listen to music. Its my obsession and sometimes I carry one lyric with me all through the day. I want to begin sharing my ideas about some of those lyrics on my blog starting with a song from the Eclipse soundtrack. I think it would be a great way to share my music tastes.
